Experiments belong in the lab – not on our ballot.

In 2008 Pierce County experimented with “Ranked Choice Voting”.  The special interest group Fair Vote told us it would be  cheaper, fairer, easier and more democratic than the alternative.

On every single count Fair Vote has proven to be wrong.

The truth is Ranked Choice Voting is hundreds of thousands of dollars more expensive, it failed to provide a majority winner in both countywide races and it gave new and troubling powers to political parties to control the ballot.

Now Fair Vote has committed over $32,000 to oppose the three reform measures on this November’s ballot.

This is the largest donation on record to a Pierce County Charter Amendment.  Worse yet, because Fair Vote is a 501 (c) (3) its donors

are secret – we don’t know where the money to sway our local election is actually coming from.

We believe local issues should be decided by local people.  Reject Fair Vote’s effort to buy this election and vote “Approve 1, 2 & 3”.

Professor Fair Vote

wants to keep experimenting with our elections.
